Title Tag Analyzer

Paste a title tag for a heuristic check of clarity, length, topic placement, repetition and readability. This is not a Google score or a ranking prediction.

What the title analyser can and cannot tell you

The tool checks editorial patterns that are easy to measure. It cannot see the full search result, query, visible heading, competing pages or whether Google will choose different text for a particular search. Treat its number as a prompt to review the wording, not a target to maximise.

A useful title identifies the page accurately, distinguishes it from other pages on the site and sets a fair expectation for the visitor. Compare important titles in Search Console using enough impressions, and avoid changing many elements at once if you want to learn from the outcome.

    Frequently asked questions

How long should a title tag be? +
There is no fixed character limit because search displays vary by device, query and letter width. Keep the title concise, descriptive and free of repeated boilerplate; use the preview score as a heuristic.
Should the main topic be near the start? +
Put the clearest page description where people can see it quickly when that reads naturally. Do not force keyword repetition or awkward wording for a score.
Should I include my brand name? +
Use the brand when it helps identify the result, often on the homepage and important commercial pages. Google may omit, move or add site-name information when generating a title link.
Why does Google sometimes rewrite my title? +
Google creates title links from several page signals and can use different text when the title is inaccurate, repetitive, obsolete or unclear. Make the title and visible main heading consistently describe the page.
